'Ted' drabble.

Ted made a last adjustment to the drive mechanism, before clamping her sternum closed and smoothing the skin back over the maintenance cavity. He leant down and inhaled her scent. Brushing her lips with a gentle kiss, he smiled in welcome when her eyes flickered open.

Hand in hand, they stepped over the girl’s broken body.

“I told her I don't stand for that kind of malarkey in my house!”

“She should have listened,” Joyce agreed, nodding wisely before turning to smile brilliantly at him once more.

Husband and wife is meant to be forever. This time they would be.
