1. What would be your favourite pudding/sweet?
I don't often eat dessert, but I do have a definite soft spot for Tiramisu.
2. If you were able to spend a day with a Celeb .... just chatting, watching them work ... who would it be?
That's a hard one, there are so many it would be wonderful to sit down and chat with, but I think I'll go with Michael Caine--the stories would be fantastic, and he always comes across as a fascinating man to chat with.
3. If you were only allowed to see one film this year, what would it be ... either a new release, or an old favourite.
LOL I agree with Patti, probably "The King's Speech", I'm definitely looking forward to it.
4. If you could visit one city, just for a day, which one would it be? Why?
London-- because it's LONDON! lol I love the history there (also I have family I'd love to see again).
5. If you were able to visit one moment of history, when would it be? Would it be an actual event, or just to see the normal lifestyle?
Again, with the same proviso for safety etc as Patti ...Athens--Ancient Greece, no particular event that I can think of, I'd just love to see it in its heyday.
For those worried, I am fine, the cyclone is about 1000 kms north of us, but my heart goes out to the poor people in far north Qld who are about to be battered by a category 5 cyclone.

Ratty pic spam...
Sat, Jan. 29th, 2011 11:43 amI need to clean their cage out today, but thought I'd get a few photos of them having fun before I disturb them.
We have a new little baby, she's a cute little cream and white red-eyed baby (although with the flash it's hard to see her markings), and she's just starting to feel confident getting around the cage.
As usual, click for full size pics.
Ivy and Mythril enjoying some carrot, pumpkin and sweet potato baby food.

The new (as yet un-named) baby squeezing her way past the big girls to get her share.

1. Favourite childhood book?
Hmm...it's impossible to pick one. I got a lovely collection of children's classics as a present when I was about 8 which I adored, my favourites being Around the World in Eighty days, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Gulliver's Travels, Swiss Family Robinson and other wonderful adventure stories, my least favourite being the more 'girly' books. When I was 10 I was given the Silver Brumby books by Elyne Mitchell which I guess are my absolute favourite childhood books as I have read them so many times I can quote large sections. I also loved and adored Jennie by Paul Gallico, The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper and The Narnia books (although the series I had only had didn't include The Magician's Nephew, so one day I must read that one).
2. What are you reading right now?
Um... a fanfic, actually, but I do have Guild Wars: Edge of Destiny that I just purchased from Amazon waiting for me to finish the fic (although in some way I guess it kind of counts as a fanfic too. lol.)
3. What books do you have on request at the library?
I like to own books, so I don't tend to use the library any more... haven't since my kids were quite young.
4. Bad book habit?
None that I can think of... a book rarely looks read after I finish with it. Oh...does reading to the exclusion of anything else including cooking dinner for my family count?
6. Do you have an e-reader?
Yes. I have an old Sony e-reader which has been used so much its buttons have worn out, so I treated myself to a Kindle last year and absolutely love it!

Thanks to
curiouswombat I have discovered a fun photo community (
photo_scavenger ) that I started posting to today. Each week they give a prompt and you post a photo that fits the prompt.
Last week's prompt was 'water' and this week's is 'depart'. I thought I may as well post them here each week as well for those who may be interested.
WATER:
Well, we've certainly had a lot of water lately here in South East Queensland. This was the view from my front door last Tuesday.

DEPART:
An unwanted and troublesome palm departing the property, with a little help from my husband and his tractor.

Fri, Jan. 14th, 2011 01:52 pmYes, I really am spamming today! lol
I just wanted to share an incredible pic that was taken during the floods.

A green tree frog hitching a ride on the back of a brown snake.
Photo taken by computer technician Armin Gerlach while visiting friends in the flood-hit town of Dalby, located in the state's south-east.

enigmaticblues. Apparently it's More Joy Day which sounds like a truly wonderful idea. So, for my contribution to the day, I would like to offer artwork.
Comment here with your request and I'll get to it as soon as possible. I can't promise it will be done immediately, but I will fill requests as soon as I am able.
I can't do manips, so anything I do will have to be done with screencaps or other high quality photos. I do primarily Buffyverse as that is what I have a lot of pics for, but if you want something else and can point me towards the pics I'll see what I can do.

Flood update
Tue, Jan. 11th, 2011 03:03 pmWe have finally heard from everyone and they are all safe.
Thank you to everyone for your good wishes. *hugs you all*
We are safe and mostly dry, just cut off from the rest of the world as the only road in to our area is flooded on either side of us, but where we are is reasonably high, so we should be fine.

2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write that song name down no matter how silly it sounds.
( Some of these are hilarious! )

1.) Go to my master fic list and pick out a line or two from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please -- no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)
2.) I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.
3.) Your choice of an icon or drabble to anyone who stumps me.

1. First thing you wash in the shower?
My hair.
2. What colour is your favourite hoodie?
I don't think I have ever owned a hoodie.
3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
As it was my husband, I'd say that's a resounding yes. LOL
4. Do you plan outfits?
Very rarely.

Reply to this post, and I will tell you my favourite icon of yours. Then post this to your own journal using your own favourite icon.
Picking my favourite was hard! So many much-loved icons to choose from.
I went with this gorgeous Jon icon that
vampkiss made for me because, well, it's Jon (that's reason enough, surely?), and I just adore the cropping.
