This is a drabble I wrote for enigmaticblues The idea was to write a drabble to cheer her up... but the muse had other ideas... and wrote this sad little piece instead.

A visit with a friend

Spike hesitated, he didn’t know why he was nervous—she was really the only one of the Scoobies who had treated him like something more than a monster, had treated him like a man—so he was fairly sure she wouldn’t mind him visiting.

Steeling himself he stepped slowly forward, “’lo, luv. ‘m sorry I haven’t been to see you sooner, been out of town for a bit. I brought you these.” he laid the flowers down, a beautiful spray of wildflowers that reminded him of her, free of spirit and beautiful in a natural, uncultivated way. “Miss you, pet.”
