Giles' dilemna rings true and his choices make sense. Losing Buffy must have made him think of the other ones he kept in his heart.

Yes, poor Ethan. I couldn't bear the thought that Giles hadn't given him another thought after the Initiative took him away... so I had to at least have him TRYING to find Ethan.
