His eyes closed as he felt the now-familiar rush of power infusing him, the almost orgasmic joy as he shaped it, bending it easily to his will. For years he had worked, studying and perfecting his art; waiting for this day, for his chance to show Rupert what it felt like to have one you love ripped from you. To wake up one morning to the realisation that the person you cherished was gone.

Even as he spoke the words that would seal her fate a small twinge of regret filled him. The girl was simply a means to an end; her fate and that of the other children his spell would effect shouldn’t concern him. It was time for Ripper to pay. He forcibly shook off his concerns and continued with the enchantment.
