“There must be something you can do,” he pleaded. “If it’s a matter of remuneration...” he offered, doing a quick mental tally of how much cash he could raise in a hurry.
“I assure you, money has nothing to do with my diagnosis. I’m afraid it’s simply too late for any form of treatment.” The doctor sighed. “Removing her to warmer climes may help manage her illness, giving her months, possibly years.”
William nodded absently as he showed the doctor out, his mind wandering to Italy and Greece. Whatever it takes, he told himself. I will make her well again.
