A Grain of Sand - Chapter 13

As many of you know, I have been suffering from a pretty bad case of writer's block for--well, a year or two, but more so this last year. Lately I have been making myself write a little (at least 100 words) every day and am slowly getting some progress made. I chose 'Sand' to work on as it is the one with nice short chaps, so I am hoping that by the time it is complete I will be back into the swing of writing reguarly and can then start work on 'Duty'.
So, I have a few chapters written and one more half written, and am feeling reasonably confident that I can start posting on a fortnightly basis. Please don't ask me to 'hurry up and post the next chapter' or 'update soon', because it won't be happening--at the moment once a fortnight is all I feel comfortable with being able to promise. IF I manage to get more chapters up my sleeve and have a greater buffer zone then I will increase the posts to once a week, but I can't guarantee that will happen.
Anyway, I know it's been a LONG time between posts and people will probably need a refresher...so previous chapters can be found HERE.
Rating: Possibly R18+ at some stage--although that is looking less and less likely. lol For now I would say probably PG, certainly no more than M15+ due to a bit of violence.)
Summary: Set in Season 6 somewhere around 'Life Serial' and goes very AR from there as slayer and vampire find themselves scouring dimensions. Will their search be in vain? And what will they learn along the way?
My thanks, as always, to my lovely beta slaymesoftly. Any mistakes are most likely a result of my post-beta tinkering.

Hopefully I can get a few more chaps up my sleeve and up the posting to weekly--but until then, yep, I'll be back in two weeks (although I think I'll move the posting forward a day to Monday rather than Tuesday).

Date: 7/10/08 10:07 pm (UTC)It's nice to actually be getting some progress made on at least one of my wips. I'm finding the 100 words per day thing is helping, some days 100 is all I get done, some days it's a lot more. But it's all better than the big fat nothing that I've been getting done for...oh, about a year now.
Good luck with your block...it's so frustrating! *pets*

12 is new too for me. Loved the scene when Spike could stand in the sun. Buffy may be denying it but she has definitely kind feeling towards Spike :)
But she is denying it very hard.
Ah Lorne. The other remaining friend of Faith and Wes. I would wonder how he'll react to this Buffy and Spike but I can read on :)

Must say I'm glad that Buffy apologized; she knew very well that she had hurt Spike (and that she noticed is a good thing too).
Seems to be a bad timing; will the amulet lead them on? Lorne couldn't help yet.
Evil cliffhanger (well done) but good to see an update :D
I'll try not to fall behind again.

Yes, it is good that Buffy is starting to notice little things like Spike's awe at being able to stand in the sun, or when she upsets him. Sometimes they are finding help along the way, but, as you said, mostly they are having to depend on each other, which is helping them to grow closer.
