Stolen from a few people, but, like [livejournal.com profile] eowyn_315, I am doing 20

* Step 1: Put your playlist on random.
* Step 2: Post the first line from the first 10 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
* Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

I don't have an MP3 player, so I just used windows media player on shuffle... and as I recently ripped every cd (including singles) in the house onto the computer, there's an interesting mix.

No sooner did I post this than my internet decided to be difficult. *sigh*

Yes, to both...although mine is The Weight by Jimmy Barnes...have never heard of The Band.

Hee - and I've never heard of Jimmy Barnes! The Band's is the original version from 1968: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Weight

I'll have to see if I can find Barnes' version to listen to - it's one of my favorite songs, but I can't imagine anyone else doing it.

I tried to find it online, but all I could find was a vid of a live performance and Jimmy seems to be as pissed as a fart rather intoxicated. So here's the version I have (it's Jimmy singing it with The Badloves). http://drive.heartinternet.co.uk/F/427539-326205335

#13 - Princes of the Universe - Queen

I also knew #10, but two people beat me to it.

I'm sure I'll kick myself for not getting more...several seem really familiar.

Hee! You know I'll be a failure at this, right? I did recognize a lot of the lyrics, but titles? Soooo not happening. I think #10 is American Pie, other than that...#20 is driving me nuts because I can practically sing the rest of it, but the title and artist are laughing at me from the back of my brain.

LOL...now why would I know these.
1. The Answer - Richie Sambora
9. Queen of New Orleans - JBJ
11. Joey - Bon Jovi
16. If That's What it Takes - Bon Jovi
18. Just Older - Bon Jovi

There is another one in there I know but I've already been greedy.

LOL Yeah, I figured the odds were in your favour--and I'd say you're the only one likely to guess the other one you're talking about.

Edit: Actually, there is more than one more there that you should know...so it depends which one you meant.

I'll come in with the title for 19 - Heat of the Night, Bryan Adams.

I'm not good at guessing lyrics - I tend more to listen to the music and not so much the words of songs. Though I'm better with choruses. *g*

Yep, that's it.

I know the lyrics to songs when they're playing, but not so much when they're written down.
