24 questions about what you do at Christmas (if you celebrate).
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Wrapping paper. Hubby and I both love wrapping the pressies (ribbons as well) and making them look all pretty.
2. Real tree or artificial?
Artificial. Cut trees don't fare too well in the Queensland heat.
3. When do you put up the tree?
Preferably no earlier than a week before Christmas, but in reality as this time of year is usually very busy for my husband and he often gets sent away to work it is whenever he is going to be be here. This year we had to work around 'the daughter's work, too, so the tree actually went up Monday night.
4. When do you take the tree down?
Always before New Year.
5. Do you like Eggnog?
I don't think I've ever had the Eggnog that American's drink at Christmas. We have 'eggnog' that you can buy from the shops all year round which is just a milk drink, and no I don't particularly like it.
6. Favourite gift received as a child?
My bike
7. Do you have a nativity scene?
No
8. Hardest person to buy for?
Kevin (Mum's other half). He never 'wants' anything!
9. Easiest person to buy for?
My almost 16 year old son. He's still at that stage where he wants everythng and anything computer related always goes down well.
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
A cheap plastic lint remover from a very stingy friend (the worst part was that he gave all his friends exactly the same present).
11. Mail or email Christmas cards?
Mostly mail-which reminds me I MUST get the cards in the post!
12. Favourite Christmas Movie?
I don't really have one--don't tend to watch the tv over Christmas.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
No set time, if I see something during the year that I think people will like I'll get it and pop it away--the last minute mad pre-Christmas shopping probably starts somewhere around the end of November, beginning of December.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
No.
15. Favourite thing to eat at Christmas?
The turkey that Kevin cooks in the Webber. YUM!
16. Clear lights or coloured on the tree?
I like clear, we have coloured at the moment because when our last lights died I couldn't get a long enough string of clear.
17. Favourite Christmas song?
Traditional - Once in Royal David's city, O Little Town of Bethlehem and Good King Wenceslas.
Non-traditional - I Wish Every Day Could be Like Christmas by Bon Jovi
18. Travel for Christmas or stay at home?
We stay home for Christmas itself but go to Mum's for Boxing Day.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers?
Yes
20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
A star--who would want to stick an ugly brooding vampire on their tree? lol
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
We have friends over for Christmas Eve and after the children are in bed (although mine are both now old enough that they stay up and join in) the 'adults' exchange a tree present, which is just a little present that should technically be small enough to fit in the tree. The rest of the presents are opened on Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
Crowds.
23. What I love most about Christmas?
Watching people open their presents.
24. What I love least about Christmas?
Cleaning up afterwards! lol
And a huge thank you to
kazzy_cee for the gorgeous card and calendar. *LOVES*
You are so organised! I remembered to BUY cards... I just keep forgetting to take them out with me in order to post them!
DON'T just wring your hands in despair - YOU can do something to help stop the Japanese killing of humpback whales in the Antarctic.
As the Japanese whaling ships head south to start their hunt, sign The Daily Telegraph's anti-whaling petition with Today to send to Japan as part of our commitment to save these gentle and magnificent creatures.

Date: 13/12/07 02:50 am (UTC)I've just always had a star on my tree. I have a lovely Father Christmas topper too, but he's never been on the tree...he goes on the wine rack and watches over all the nibblies.

Date: 13/12/07 12:52 pm (UTC)Your friend with the cheep pressie - a bit like one of my brothers - he does all the shopping as his wife is a lazy ***! But he has one idea - Last year we all had a bath towel ... the year before a pen! They are good gifts I will admit!

Date: 14/12/07 02:15 am (UTC)I didn't even care that he bought the cheapest thing he could find... it was the complete lack of thought that went into it. *sigh* Some people just don't 'get' Christmas!
