Snowflake Challenge Day 2

Connection is a large part of what fandom is. Take the time to let creators know you've enjoyed their work.
Day 2
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.
[Remember that by fanwork, we are talking about: all forms of creativity. From meta to fic writing to picspamming to hosting a comment-fic-meme to running a challenge, to vidding and podficcing and reccing and pretty much anything you can think of. Crafts, knitted items, repurposed rubber duckies, finger puppets. Pimping posts. Guides to timelines, tattoos, quotes, nit-picky canon guides, episode recaps, synopses, beta work. If you think it's creative, then it definitely fits under the heading "fanwork."]
I decided to go with older (much loved by me) works that newer members of fandom may not have seen.
Rec 1. Into the Light - Spike/Buffy by
jen_nsync_landl
Rec 2. Legions of True Hearts - Buffy/William by
eurydice72
Rec 3. Are We Friends? and its sequel Just a Summer Romance Spike/Buffy by
slaymesoftly
Rec 4. Future Imperfect - Spike/Buffy and Butterfly Effect - Spike/Buffy by Cousinjean
I'm going to stop there, although I could go on and on... there are just so many wonderful stories out there! Treat yourself, go and read (or reread) an older fic and don't forget to let the author know that it is still loved!

Date: 3/1/12 02:30 am (UTC)I took one look at day two's question and went "oops?" because I really couldn't think of anything that's overlooked or whatever. Your idea of going way back for good fics that newer members may not have heard of is excellent.(Although you've already taken three that I probably would have picked. lol) Not to worry, though. I'll go back through my Slaymes and see what else I can come up with. I'm going to use it. :) But not till tomorrow. Got to get to bed and stock up on sleep. It's back to work tomorrow. *sigh*
