AN: As you both asked for Wes/Faith I did two back to back drabbles set in the Love Me Back to Life world.
“If you could change... If it could have been Angel who made it out alive—” He propped himself on one elbow and studied her face.
Faith frowned. “Why?”
“Why, what?” Wesley responded, flopping back against the pillow.
“Why are you fishing?’
“I’m not...”
“Really? Coulda fooled me,” Faith retorted, shoving his elbow aside and rolling so she was sitting on his chest.
She glared down at him. “Do I wish Angel had made it out of there alive? Of course I do. Do I wish it was him here and not you? If you need to ask me that...”
“I’m sorry.”
“You’re an idiot!”
“Undoubtedly,” he admitted. “But I just can’t help wondering... why? What you see in me? If you’re just...settling?”
“You’re an even bigger idiot than I thought.” Faith shook her head. “Don’t you get it? All my life, I’ve never... Sure, there’s been other guys, but none of them meant anything, ever. You... You’re the reason I get up in the morning, the reason I look forward to going to bed at night. You, not Angel. So, enough with the insecure male bullshit, got it?”
He nodded, his lips curving slowly into a grin. “Got it.”
