Giles squatted, his hand brushing across the rocky soil. It wasn’t much, barely distinguishable from the rest of the rubble in the now-disused quarry, but from what he’d been able to discern, this large sparsely-greened mound covered a multitude of the Initiative’s sins—and one of his.

“I never meant for this to happen,” he murmured.  “I didn’t think, and then we were so busy...” He brushed roughly at his eyes. “I’m sorry.”

“So you should be.”

Giles spun, losing balance and landing on his arse.

“You... You’re... But how?”

“Come now, Ripper. You should know I’m not that easily killed.”

I have no idea what was or wasn't supposed to happen in the comics, I don't read them, or consider them to be canon.

Why not, just out of curiosity? My feelings are mixed, with Joss saying they are canon yet sometimes I don't like the way they're going.

Beacuse I have never liked comics--and I am mainly a BtVS writer anyway, so I'll often discount AtS canon if it disagrees with BtVS canon (which it often does).

Now I'm dying to know lol...where are the times the canons conflict? I know there's a little difference in the mythos, since the PTBs are rarely mentioned on Buffy...probably a little difference in season 4 since there wasn't much mention of the LA darkness...

what're the bigger ones?

Honestly, I can't remember, I just know that there are...none are HUGE, I don't think...just little things (mostly dates etc) that contradict BtVS canon. I didn't watch all of AtS, so I probably missed some.

Also, I'll sometimes choose to write post Chosen, so AtS Season 5 isn't taken into account.

Oh, ok. I remember hearing things like that. I think I'm a little different than many fans though because Angel was my first love; I only watched Buffy after both shows had ended. I only wish I'd found Angel earlier, because I didn't care quite as much for the last two seasons, save a few eps here and there.

I always wonder why so many Buffy fans didn't like Angel as much. *shrug*
