Lost in your eyes
He had always been vigilant; keeping them all at arms length, never allowing any to break his carefully constructed walls and enter his heart. He’d laughed at the weak, the foolish ones who made themselves vulnerable to wounds that didn’t heal.
Now he stood teetering dangerously on the precipice and his head spun. His mind screamed at him to run, to flee before it was too late. His heart screamed at him to surrender.
“Ethan?”
The deep, warm voice called to him and turning he lost himself in the depths of his lover’s eyes and knew his heart had won.

Salvation caught the last train out tonight.
He knew where he was headed, Sunnydale, California. He could feel it. The pull on his heart like a compass needle pointing north. What he didn't know was what he’d do once he got there.
The hurt, the all consuming anger within cried for justice, for revenge. His heart just ached for one more glimpse, one last caress. Maybe even a chance to find out why?
He stood in the shadows watching as they emerged from the school building. The children veered off leaving Rupert standing alone.
His eyes closed; his heart reeled.
