She requested Anya and bicycle.

Perfect

Since the day he proposed she’d known just how their lives would go.

First their lovely wedding; all their friends so happy for them, and giving tasteful but moderately-priced gifts.

Then a year as happy newly-weds before the children.

She smiled, picturing her future family on her favourite holiday. There’d be bright paper scattered everywhere. She would cook a tasty and nutritious meal. The children would play together in front of the tree, while Xander assembled small pink and blue bicycles complete with matching streamers.

'Yes,' she thought, smoothing her veil neatly into place,'it will all be perfect.'

Oh, poor Anya :( Lovely little drabble, and these are totally the kind of thoughts she would have been thinking. I like how you brought in "tasteful but moderately-priced" - that's definitely an Anya phrase.

There were some times during the show where I liked Xander, some where I was ambivalent towards him, and some where I actively despised him...that ep was definitely one of the latter.
