Bitter wine.

He hated it. Hated the pettiness, the insecurity and the foolishness of it. Hated the way it made him feel; small, pathetic, weak. He hated the way eager eyes drifted suggestively over Ethan’s lithe form as it twisted and gyrated on the dance floor. He hated the lust-filled gazes of the men and women in the crowd. The way they would sidle up to brush against the exquisitely rounded rump, or allow a hand to graze its way slowly down one tightly clad hip, and the laughing apologies and pitiful excuses, claiming each encounter as an accident. He hated the way Ethan encouraged each appraising glance, played to each and every one of his multitude of admirers, beguiling them with shy smiles, lowered lashes and the alluring twist and thrust of his hips as he wove gracefully around the club’s crowded dance floor. He hated it.

He loved the many, varied and imaginative ways in which Ethan would make it up to him.

Now that is wicked, but in a very helpful friend-type way. It also means you're well over an eighth of the way there already. How productive is that?

I'm just hoping that my headache will ease off enough for me to work on josephine_64's birthday fic today, though knowing me if I try I'll just stare at a blank screen until it's her birthday, at which point I'll miraculously find inspiration. The next bit of AAD would be just too easy to end up overlooking something to even try to write with a headache, though, so

No trying to write with a headache only makes your headache worse... much better to let it go away first... take some tablets... drink some water and take it easy for a bit! *hugs* wish you better.

How cute was that hat?

I tried all the taking it easy and staying in the dark etc all day yesterday, but it didn't seem to work. Just got myself another Piglet sized mug of decaff though and once it's cool enough I'll be using it to wash down some tablets and letting them kick in before I even attempt to write anything. Once they hang around for longer than a day, though there's a good chance the headache might be here for about a week and I hate feeling forced into doing nothing for longer than about a day. Doing nothing by choice, totally different thing, but... It also means even if I only get a few hundred words done in a day that by Monday I might have a birthday fic which would give it a good chance of getting beta-ed before I post it, and if I manage to write more than it all helps prevent me getting frustrated about feeling useless, which doesn't help the headache.

Well, I ended up taking it easy again anyway. I crashed out while I was waiting for the tablets to take effect and didn't wake up until they had well and truly worn off, so here I go again...
