First Glance
The music pounded around him; her body pulsing and writhing with the beat as he watched, mesmerised. A mumbled voice at his shoulder broke his concentration and he brusquely waved the minion away before returning his focus once more to the dancefloor and every twitch and shake of her lithe little body—drinking in every detail.
He could feel her from across the room, her presence calling to him like a beacon; the power radiating from her made his blood sing. There was something else, something more about this girl that he hadn’t felt with the previous slayers he’d encountered. She held him entranced as her body ebbed and flowed to the music’s rhythm.
He growled softly to himself and quickly downed the shot he’d been nursing. Shaking off the strange sense of foreboding, he pushed away from the bar—there was work to be done, and then he had to get back to the all important business of finding a cure for Dru.
Time to go kill himself a slayer.
