*New fic* A Future Set in Sand

Here is the first chapter of my new fic. It is three chapters in total (unless the third chapter decides to take off on me and become HUGE in which case it might be three + an Epi). The next two chapters are mostly written... the muse and I are just having a few disagreements over a couple of sections. So I hope to have them finished and off to my beta soon.
