She moved well enough; less technical than the Chinese slayer, more inventive than the New York one, although definitely lacking in the latter’s intensity.

A little help from the sidelines and dust floated in the air. Friends—that was different.

He stepped from the darkness, applauding and offering praise that was only half-sarcastic. He was going to enjoy this dance.

His nostrils flared, breathing in her fear. Looks like he’d ruffled the pretty little slayer’s feathers. Good!

He grinned, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

His third slayer was all but in the bag—this was going to be too easy!
